About The Thompson Collectors Association
The Thompson Collectors Association (TCA) began in 1990 with a small group of collectors who were interested in meeting other collectors to share information on the history of the Thompson Submachine Gun. Today the TCA has over 200 members from around the world, publishing a quarterly newsletter containing articles written by members on topics such as TSMG manufacturing variations, parts, and accessories.
The TCA is a National Rifle Association (NRA), Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) and National firearms Act Trade and Collectors Association (NFATCA) affiliated club and has set up displays at the NRA National Convention and other major gun shows, with our main emphasis on collecting, possession, use, and study of Thompson Submachine Gun, accessories and related history.
The club hosts several meetings each year where members set-up displays, trade items, and enjoy the company of their fellow collectors:
- Our spring Western Show & Shoot is held in Arizona or Nevada
- The Annual Meeting and Show & Shoot is held each summer in Maryland, Pennsylvania or Indiana. Details are provided in the club's newsletters.
There are an estimated 5,000 to 10,000 legally owed TSMGs remaining. This website is dedicated to preserving the TSMG legend which the Thompson collectors maintain by various activities. While you browse our website, we hope you'll gain some of our excitement about the Thompson.
